In this fast-paced world, mistakes can be costly, and avoiding them can set you apart from the crowd. Letās explore some common pitfalls and how to steer clear of them while enhancing your online presence.

One of the most frustrating trends Iāve noticed is the rise of read-only Canva shares. Sure, I appreciate the effort to share slides, but when you canāt download them, it feels like a letdown. Imagine trying to refer back to important information only to find yourself flipping through slides on a screen. Itās tedious! If you want to share, just do it the right way. Make those slides downloadable so we can save or print them.
2. Screenshot AI Prompts š„ļø
Another annoyance is when creators share their AI prompts as screenshots. I get it; you want to show your process, but typing it out for your audience is far more considerate. Instead of making viewers pause and take a screenshot, just provide the text below the video or in a Google Doc. Itās 2025, and we should be past this point of inconvenience.
3. Fake āLiveā Webinars š
Evergreen webinars are a common tactic, but pretending theyāre live when theyāre not is a major turn-off. Thereās nothing worse than feeling duped into thinking youāre joining a live event when itās a pre-recorded session. If youāre going to offer a webinar, be transparent about it being a replay. Authenticity matters, and we donāt need to be gaslit into thinking weāre part of something exclusive.

Itās maddening to be forced to watch content from start to finish when you might only be interested in specific information. If youāre going to create a video, give viewers the option to fast forward or speed it up. There are tools available for thisādonāt waste our time!

Iāve seen countless AI tools being marketed that are essentially just wrappers around existing AI models. These apps often rely on APIs from well-known platforms like ChatGPT or Claude but offer little added value. If youāre considering investing in such tools, it might be better to go directly to the source. The hype around these AI wrappers is often exaggerated, and many will likely become obsolete soon.

Paid newsletters have become a hot topic lately, but I find them overwhelming. My inbox is flooded with subscriptions, and Iām still in the process of unsubscribing from many. The format of platforms like Substack feels outdated, and I often unsubscribe the moment I see a paywall. If youāre considering starting a paid newsletter, think carefully about how you can offer real value that justifies the cost.

Weāre still in the early stages of AI development, and yet thereās a significant amount of chatter about its ethical implications. Many of these discussions seem premature, especially when the technology isnāt fully realized yet. Instead of debating the ethics of AI, it might be more productive to focus on how to utilize these tools effectively and responsibly.
