Indesign QR Code

Creating QR Codes in Adobe InDesign

🌟 Introduction

Today, I'm going to show you how to create a QR code using Adobe InDesign. If you're already using Adobe InDesign and need a QR code, there's no reason to look elsewhere. The software has this feature built-in, making it incredibly convenient.

If you're new to Adobe InDesign, make sure to sign up for my free course, Adobe InDesign 101. I'll leave a link to that below. Let's get started!

🖥️ Generating a QR Code

To generate a QR code in Adobe InDesign, follow these simple steps:

  1. Open your project in Adobe InDesign.

  2. Go to the "Object" menu.

  3. Select "Generate QR Code".

It's as simple as that! You now have a QR code ready to be customized to fit your design needs.

🎨 Customizing the QR Code Color

Once you have generated your QR code, you can easily change its color to match your design theme. Here's how:

  1. Click on the QR code to select it.

  2. Go to the "Color" tab.

  3. Choose your desired color.

For example, I chose pink to match our theme. You can pick any color that fits your design best.

🌐 Adding the URL

Next, you need to link the QR code to your desired URL. Follow these steps:

  1. Click on the QR code to select it.

  2. Go to the "Content" tab.

  3. Enter your URL.

  4. Click "OK".

Your QR code is now linked to the specified URL. In my example, I used cozyclubgetaway.com.

📌 Placing the QR Code

After customizing the QR code, you need to place it on your design. Here's how:

  1. Click on the QR code to select it.

  2. Drag and drop it onto your design.

Position it wherever it makes the most sense. In my case, I placed it in the center so that the two of us are pointing at it.

🔄 Editing the QR Code

If you need to make changes to the QR code after placing it, you can do so easily. Here's how:

  1. Right-click on the QR code.

  2. Select "Edit QR Code".

You can then change the color, URL, or other attributes as needed. For example, I changed the color from pink to blue and back to pink to match different elements of the design.
