Typo Store Tour - Cute + cheap stationery store at the mall // Australian Planners and Notebooks
Discovering Typo: A Hidden Gem in Stationery Shopping 🛍️
Hey everyone! Welcome back to my blog! Today, I'm super excited to share with you a delightful experience I had recently while exploring a cute and affordable stationery store called Typo. My friend Kamila and I stumbled upon this gem during a shopping trip at the UTC mall in San Diego, and I just couldn't wait to tell you all about it!
How We Found Typo 🌟
It all started when Kamila needed to find a swimsuit, and I decided to tag along. Honestly, I’m not much of a shopper myself, given my minimalist lifestyle, but I’m always up for an adventure! As we wandered through the mall, the name "Typo" caught my eye. At first, I thought it might be a store selling typewriters—yes, I know, typewriters are pretty much a thing of the past! But when we stepped inside, I was thrilled to discover it was a stationery store!
After doing a bit of research, I learned that Typo was founded in Australia in 2009 and has quickly become a favorite for stationery lovers. It seems that they just recently made their way to San Diego, opening their doors last November. What a treat for us stationery enthusiasts!
What is the Cotton On Group? 🏢
Now, you might be wondering what Typo has to do with the Cotton On Group. Well, Typo is actually a brand within this larger Australian company. Cotton On has eight brands in total, all focused mainly on clothing, except for Typo, which is dedicated to fun and affordable stationery. The store's mission is to offer a wide variety of stationery products that are not only stylish but also budget-friendly.
As we walked through the store, I was amazed by the sheer variety of planners, notebooks, and other stationery items available. It was like stepping into a stationery wonderland! From cute mugs to colorful post-it notes, Typo had everything a stationery lover could dream of.
Store Tour: A Stationery Wonderland 🏰
During our visit, I decided to take you all on a little tour of the store. Just imagine walking through aisles filled with colorful notebooks, quirky pens, and delightful stationery accessories. The atmosphere was vibrant and cheerful, which instantly lifted my spirits!
What I loved most about Typo was the incredible variety of planners and notebooks. They had the highest quantity of variations I’ve ever seen in one place! Whether you’re looking for something simple or something a bit more decorative, Typo has it all. And the best part? Most of their products are priced affordably, making it easy to stock up on your favorites without breaking the bank.
Chatting with a Store Employee 💬
While I was exploring, I had the opportunity to chat with one of the store employees. She mentioned that Typo has been around for quite some time in Australia and has been a huge hit there. However, they are still relatively new in the U.S., with only a handful of stores open so far. But the exciting news is that they plan to expand and open 50 more stores in the next two years!
It’s clear that Typo is here to stay, and I can’t wait to see how they grow! During our conversation, I also discovered that Typo's products remind me of another brand called Knock Knock. If you’re not familiar with Knock Knock, they sell snarky gifts and stationery, but Typo has taken a more positive and fun approach with their offerings. Think cheerful unicorns and playful patterns instead of snarky humor!
Why Typo Stands Out 🌈
One of the things I appreciated about Typo was its distinct vibe. Unlike other high-end stationery stores like Paper Source or Papyrus, Typo isn’t trying to compete with them on price or product uniqueness. Instead, they focus on creating fun, everyday stationery that anyone can enjoy.
For someone like me, who often feels overwhelmed by high prices at traditional stationery shops, Typo is a refreshing alternative. You can find a planner for as low as $8 or $10, which is perfect if you're looking for something practical without the frills.
Exploring More Stationery Stores 📚
As I wrapped up my visit to Typo, I couldn't help but think about other stationery stores I’d love to explore. If you’re like me and enjoy discovering new places to shop for stationery, I’d love to hear your recommendations! Whether it’s a local gem or a well-known chain, I’m always on the lookout for more stationery adventures.
In the meantime, I’ll be making the rounds at places like Michael's, Jo-Ann Fabrics, Target, and Office Depot to see what they have to offer. It’s so much fun to browse through aisles filled with notebooks and pens, feeling the textures and flipping through the pages before making a purchase.
Conclusion: A Must-Visit for Stationery Lovers 💖
In conclusion, my unexpected trip to Typo was a delightful experience that I’m so glad I got to share with you. This cute and affordable stationery store has quickly become one of my favorites, and I can’t wait to visit again! If you’re in the area, I highly recommend checking it out.
